Should you Focus Solely on Social Marketing for Your Traffic Needs?

Has your page rankings taken a beating lately? Lost all your traffic and profits too? Given up in favour of social media where the party's going strong ... and free? Well you are not alone in flocking over to the 'new' kids in town.

Most people know that traffic is the lifeblood of their business. And most businesses are aware these days that they need to have a presence on social media, especially Facebook and Twitter to maximise traffic flow.



Given the amount of publicity social media receives it is easy to overlook old channels of marketing and communication. The recent bloodbath experienced by those who fell out of favour from Google's Panda(monium) has not helped as it has caused many to look for alternative traffic sources rather than rely too heavily on organic search. 



Traditional channels of communication and marketing have their own benefits and should not be neglected. Even as you embrace social media marketing you should not ignore traditional channels such as offline marketing eg. media ads, etc. because it has been found that a good mix of channels ie., a multichannel approach has delivered the best results in traffic and ultimately led to a profit surge. You need to be able to strategise a mix where you can work one into the other in a cohesive manner to maximise your results.
